Corten steel furniture through the day, from planting to evening fire
Daytime: planting and filtered light
By day, Corten outdoor furniture shapes a terrace through what grows on it and the way the light falls. A planter box holds its soil on paving, a bottomless raised bed opens onto the ground below, and Thalie, a 2 mm planter that reaches 2000 mm in length, lifts a small olive tree or a hedge of grasses on four legs that let the air circulate beneath it. Where sunlight needs breaking up rather than blocking, Aquilon, a panel cut with circles of every size, lets the light through in patches and keeps the terrace airy. Each piece reaches you with its patina already in place, so the terrace takes on its colour from the first day.
Water, moving or still
Water can join the terrace in two ways. Our water features add sound and, after dark, light, with a pump and LEDs built in; Ondine, a round basin from 1000 to 2500 mm across, has no pump at all and simply mirrors the sky. Between the two, a water wall sends a sheet of water down an existing wall or down its own upright panel, into a basin such as Narcisse. In every case the water should stay clear and be renewed regularly, never left standing against the steel.
Evening: fire and light
When evening comes, the terrace turns to the fire. Most of our fire pits, fire tables and fireplaces burn wood; Nyx and Pyrros, Ignis and Pharos run on bioethanol instead, a smoke-free flame for a terrace near the windows. For that wood, a two-tier log store, open at the front and 600 to 1500 mm long, lets the logs dry within reach. Then the lights take over: lanterns lit with a candle or a decorative fire, and the Luminus bollard, whose LED guides the way along a path.

Which pieces stay outdoors and which go inside?
Most of the collection lives outdoors: planters, water pieces, fire pieces, log stores, decorative panels, flame lanterns, the Luminus bollard and the Solan and Angle Dièdre wall lights. The tables and seating, with the Eos, Aura, Sirius, Lyra and Astra lights, are made for the home and arrive varnished; even varnished, Corten can still mark a light or porous floor, so we recommend felt pads under the feet of the tables, seating and Sirius floor lamp, and protecting the floor below the wall and pendant lights. No fire piece is ever used indoors.
Will pieces from different families match on one terrace?
Yes. The same signature patina, in warm, earthy tones, is applied in our workshop to every Corten piece, so a planter, a fire table and a log store sit naturally together, each with slight nuances of its own. Raw pieces keep deepening outdoors, while those finished with the protective varnish stay fixed in their workshop tone, with run-off greatly reduced but not ruled out, so we still recommend protecting pale paving beneath them.
Which pieces call for a professional before installation?
Anything fixed, anchored or heavy. A decorative panel set up as a screen needs a professional to confirm its anchoring against the wind; wall-mounted pieces such as Ignis or Célestin need the wall and fixings validated; and a large piece set on an upper-floor terrace needs the load checked first. Every piece arrives ready to install, and the installation itself is yours to arrange.

Weathering steel develops a warm patina that changes with exposure. Runoff may mark pale surfaces. A protective clear varnish is optional on selected models; even varnished, Corten steel can still leave rust run-off and stain pale floors and terraces.

Can Corten steel stain paving?
Runoff can carry patina residue. Protect pale paving and check whether the model offers an optional protective varnish, which greatly reduces runoff without ruling it out.
How should I prepare for delivery?
Check the terms for your address, access routes and the handling equipment needed for your chosen piece.
Is Corten steel painted?
Cortenys keeps the natural patina of Corten steel. An optional protective clear varnish is available on selected pieces; even varnished, Corten steel can still leave run-off and stain floors and terraces, so we recommend protecting pale surfaces.
