Some places call for a piece that does not exist yet
For singular projects, the House designs bespoke Corten steel furniture. The workshop reviews every request as an application: only selected commissions go on to become part of the Cortenys story.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Cortenys Creation?
A piece of luxury furniture in which Corten steel meets marble, light, solid wood or textiles: tables, an armchair, a chair, lighting, fire pits, fireplaces and fire tables. Every design belongs to an edition: some pieces live on in controlled series, others will appear only in very small numbers. All are crafted to order.
Can Creations be used indoors?
Yes, several are designed for indoor use: the Orphée dining table, the Dorian and Silas coffee tables, the Hestia armchair, the Lyra and Astra pendant lights, the Sirius floor lamp and the Aura and Eos wall lights. Their Corten steel parts are delivered with the signature patina sealed with an included protective varnish, which strongly reduces rust transfer but does not rule it out: we recommend felt pads or a tray under the feet of the tables, the armchair and the Sirius floor lamp, and no direct contact with light or porous floors. For the wall and pendant lights, avoid a very light or porous wall and protect the floor or table below.
Do the fire pits and fire tables burn wood or bioethanol?
It depends on the model, and the fuel is stated on each product page. The Etna and Taranis fire tables and the Atlas outdoor fireplace burn wood; the Nyx fire pit, the Pyrros fire table, the Ignis wall-mounted fireplace and the Pharos vertical fireplace run on bioethanol. Fuel is not included with any model: no wood, kindling or charcoal for the wood-burning models, and no bioethanol for the others.
What is the lead time for a Cortenys Creation?
Every Creation is crafted to order, following the indicative timeline of 6 to 12 weeks: preparation, making, signature patina, then transport. The applicable lead time is the one stated before you confirm your order.
Can a Creation be adapted to my space?
Yes, within the options offered on each product page, such as size, colour or finish. For a dimension or design specific to your setting, the House develops bespoke Corten steel pieces: every request is reviewed as an application, and only selected commissions go on to become part of the Cortenys story.
