- Workshop-applied to Corten steel surfaces to seal the patina and enhance its depth. It greatly reduces rust marks on the wall without ruling them out: avoid a very pale or porous render and protect the floor below the wall light. Other materials retain their own finish.

Care
Our Corten steel pieces receive the Cortenys signature patina in the workshop, before delivery: they never reach you bare, left to weather at home. Indoors, a protective varnish is essential; even varnished, the steel can still mark a light or porous floor, so we recommend protecting it. For everything else, follow the care recommendations for your piece and its finish.

The character of Corten steel. From day one.
The Cortenys signature patina is applied in the workshop before delivery, then the Corten steel parts receive a protective varnish. The varnish enhances and stabilises the patina and strongly reduces rust transfer, but does not rule it out: even varnished, Corten steel can still release runoff and stain floors and terraces, especially light or porous ones. We recommend protecting the floor before installation: small feet or spacers, or a drip tray, under pieces that stand on the floor, protection for the floor or table below a wall or pendant light, no direct contact with light surfaces, and wiping away any runoff promptly. Follow the varnish care advice to keep it at its best.

Eos, a line of light through Corten steel.
Eos is an indoor wall light in Corten steel, designed in France by Cortenys around a single gesture: splitting the material to let the light through. A tall, narrow rectangular plate stands slightly away from the wall; a vertical slit, bordered by metal at top and bottom, lets a line of warm light escape, drawing out the grain of the patina and the relief of the wall.
01 / Eos
By day, Eos reads as a bas-relief in Corten steel; by night, the slit becomes an incandescent line. To keep that line perfectly clean, the cut, the edges and the patina are treated with a rigour usually reserved for fine cabinetmaking. Made to order, Eos leaves the workshop with the Cortenys signature patina already applied: its tones of earth, amber and deep rust are attuned to the colour of the light and vary from one piece to the next. This Corten steel light comes in three heights.
