Material and patina
The Cortenys signature patina. Applied to the Corten steel in the workshop, then sealed with an included protective varnish.
- Material
- Corten steel base, ecru bouclé upholstery
- Protective varnish
- Workshop-applied to Corten steel surfaces to seal the patina and enhance its depth. It greatly reduces rust marks without ruling them out: protect the floor (felt pads, small feet or a saucer). Other materials retain their own finish.

Care
Our Corten steel pieces receive the Cortenys signature patina in the workshop, before delivery: they never reach you bare, left to weather at home. Indoors, a protective varnish is essential; even varnished, the steel can still mark a light or porous floor, so we recommend protecting it. For everything else, follow the care recommendations for your piece and its finish.

The Cortenys signature patina
The character of Corten steel. From day one.
The Cortenys signature patina is applied in the workshop before delivery, then the Corten steel parts receive a protective varnish. The varnish enhances and stabilizes the patina and strongly reduces rust transfer, but does not rule it out: even varnished, Corten steel can still release runoff and stain floors and terraces, especially light or porous ones. We recommend protecting the floor before installation: small feet or spacers, or a drip tray, under pieces that stand on the floor, protection for the floor or table below a wall or pendant light, no direct contact with light surfaces, and wiping away any runoff promptly. Follow the varnish care advice to keep it at its best.

Hestia
Corten steel armchair
The softness of bouclé, the anchor of Corten steel.
Hestia is an indoor armchair in Corten steel and ecru bouclé, designed by Cortenys for its Creations collection. An enveloping backrest, extended by solid armrests, wraps around a thick seat cushion upholstered in ecru bouclé. The whole rests on a low base with rounded corners, carried on short feet; its mass anchors the armchair to the floor and contrasts with the whiteness of the upholstery.
01 / Hestia
Made to order, the Corten steel base is patinated in the workshop: the Cortenys signature patina lays down earth, amber and deep rust, in nuances that vary from one piece to the next. Against this mineral material, the bouclé brings the soft, luminous texture of a winter drawing room. Hestia bears the name of the goddess of the hearth: with it, Cortenys shows that Corten, long confined to façades and gardens, can become the warm heart of an interior.
02 / Hestia
Three sizes are offered. Hestia stands alone by a window, in pairs around a Dorian or Silas coffee table, or several together in a reception lounge. You settle into it to stay: a piece of luxury furniture in Corten steel that needs no ornament to hold its own.
