- Protective varnish
- Applied in the workshop over the Cortenys signature patina, the varnish sets it and deepens its tones with a subtle satin finish. It greatly reduces rust run-off but does not rule it out: protect the floor (small feet, spacers or a drip tray).

Made to order. Never held in stock. Every Corten steel piece enters production when your order is received, its signature patina brought to maturity by our artisans so it reaches you in perfect condition and in the depth of its most beautiful shades. Allow 6 to 12 weeks from order confirmation to delivery, which is complimentary. This creation time is the signature of the House.

Every piece is guaranteed for two years against manufacturing and assembly defects.
Care
Our Corten steel pieces receive the Cortenys signature patina in the workshop, before delivery: they never reach you bare, left to weather at home. Indoors, a protective varnish is essential; even varnished, the steel can still mark a light or porous floor, so we recommend protecting it. For everything else, follow the care recommendations for your piece and its finish.

The Cortenys signature patina is applied in the workshop, before delivery, to every Corten steel piece. Where Corten usually takes months to acquire an uneven patina, your piece arrives already dressed in deep, controlled shades. Its appearance then evolves according to the chosen finish, exposure and local conditions. For care, follow the recommendations specific to your piece and its finish.

Sélène
Corten steel water basin
Sélène, a vessel of calm water where the patina meets the sky.
Low and wide, Sélène is a Corten steel water basin whose gentle curve seems to float above the ground. Its whole purpose comes down to a single gesture: to hold the water and let it fall silent. The perfectly calm surface becomes a mirror crossed by clouds, by the changing light of the day and by the green of the foliage. When so many garden fountains rely on jets and noise, Sélène chooses silence: still water, ringed with patina.
01 / Sélène
Around this mirror, Corten steel sets the tone. The Cortenys signature patina, which the bowl receives in the workshop, unfolds a warm range where amber and earth melt into rust, and each piece takes on reflections all its own, attuned to the colour of the water. Made to order in Corten steel 2 to 4 mm thick, the bowl is deliberately delivered pared back, without pump or lighting: a sculptural piece to be set down as it is on a terrace, at the edge of a pool or in the middle of the garden. As an option, the Cortenys protective varnish stabilises the patina and makes its care simpler still. It greatly reduces rust run-off but does not rule it out: protect the floor (small feet, spacers or a drip tray).

Offered in five diameters, from 600 to 1500 mm, Sélène ranges from a discreet bowl to a wide mirror of water able to bring order to an entire garden. Designed in France with the rigour of an object of architecture, this Corten steel water basin embodies one of Cortenys’ convictions: Corten deserves better than the utilitarian role to which it has long been confined. More than a vessel, it is a sculptural piece that gains in presence as the seasons pass.
